DID YOU KNOW 90% OF WOMEN STRUGGLING WITH CELLULITE?

It’s true. 9 out of 10 women have cellulite, and it causes major self-esteem issues. Cellulite is the biggest misconception is that it’s caused by diet and exercise. Cellulite is not your fault nor your mothers fault, and finally, we have a treatment for you. It’s called QWO®, and iGlow Med Spa is pleased to be among the first in the the Los Angeles area to bring this game-changing cellulite treatment to our practice and our patients.

WHAT EXACTLY IS CELLULITE?

Cellulite most frequently occurs around the thighs and buttocks of women as well as younger woman(15-18 years old) Fibrous bands of collagen called septae run vertically between the surface of the skin and the underlying tissues of the fascia. Cellulite occurs when septae are not long enough, pulling the skin down in dimples. Fat cells meant to cushion the buttocks and thighs bulge between the septae, creating a “quilted” effect. Because cellulite fat is not fuel the body can burn, it cannot be reduced through diet and exercise, making it particularly insidious.

HOW DOES QWO® WORK?

iGlow Med Spa now has QWO®, the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for cellulite that actually works. Creams and lotions promise results, but if they work, they’re typically temporary and subtle enough that results are hardly noticeable. QWO® introduces an enzyme, collagenase, into cellulite, which targets types 1 and 3 collagen fibers that make up septae. QWO® dissolves these fibers, releasing the skin from the bridge of tissue that pulls it too tight and causes the dimpling effect.

QWO® is the first ever treatment of its kind. Previous dermatological cellulite treatments were more invasive than many patients felt comfortable undergoing. As an injectable, QWO® is the first minimally-invasive treatment that does not involve significant recovery time.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?

In clinical trials, 30% of the women participating were purposefully chosen with Fitzpatrick skin types classified as IV, V, and VI, which means women of all ethnicities, ages, skin colors, and body types are candidates for QWO® Nearly all women get cellulite in the buttocks, so if you’re self-conscious of the dimpling of your skin, want to look better in a bathing suit or in underwear and have been waiting for a truly effective cellulite treatment, and now QWO® may be right for you and iGlow Med Spa is a certifed and approve location in Los Angeles, California.

QWO FAQ

QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks. In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO, 21 days apart.

QWO has been studied in more patients than any other FDA-approved injectable cellulite treatment, with over 1,800 women participating.

In two pivotal phase 3 clinical studies of adult women with moderate to severe cellulite, 424 were treated with QWO and 419 received placebo.

QWO is injected by your aesthetic specialist directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle.

You should not receive QWO if you are allergic to any collagenase or the ingredients in QWO, or have an active infection in the treatment area.

If your aesthetic specialist determines that QWO is right for you, she or he will decide on a treatment plan, including total number of treatments.

Each treatment visit may include up to 2 treatment areas. QWO injections will be given 21 days apart for 3 treatment visits.

At each office visit, injections take as little as 10 minutes.

QWO may cause serious side effects including allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, including anaphylaxis, and injection site bruising.

The most common side effects of QWO include: injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling and warmth in the treatment area.

QWO may cause serious side effects: allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, including anaphylaxis and injection site bruising.
In clinical trials, women required no post-treatment downtime. Most bruising lessened after each treatment and resolved in less than 21 days.

It’s not fully understood how QWO works in moderate to severe cellulite. The enzymes in QWO—called collagenases—are believed to target a structural cause under your skin.

It’s thought that QWO works in 3 ways: releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen.

It can be hard to talk about something as personal as your cellulite. Your aesthetic specialist is there to listen and help you find a solution. You can take comfort in knowing that you’re not alone in your struggles with cellulite. Approximately 90% of women have cellulite, no matter what they eat or how much they exercise.

Think about your goals beforehand and have them ready at your appointment. Describe how your cellulite makes you feel, and why you want to try a different treatment. Ask if they think QWO may be right for you.
