What is QWO?

QWO is the first FDA-approved injectable treatment that targets cellulite in the buttocks of women. It works by releasing deep dimples by dissolving the fibrous bands that cause them for smoother skin. Furthermore, QWO stimulates the production of new collagen which further improves the appearance of the skin.

What to Expect with QWO Treatment

To begin treatment, the treatment area will be cleansed and then QWO is injected through small needles into the dimples in the buttocks. Each session takes about 30 minutes to complete.

There is no downtime required following QWO injections. However, patients should refrain from engaging in strenuous physical activity and/or heavy exercise for 1 – 2 days after their injections.

Mild bruising and swelling may last for 1-2 weeks after the first treatment, and mild to moderate soreness may also occur.

For optimal results, three sessions, spaced 21 days apart are recommended. An improvement can be seen as early as three weeks after injections. Data has shown that results should last for a few years.

QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks. In clinical studies, women received 3 treatments of QWO, 21 days apart.

QWO has been studied in more patients than any other FDA-approved injectable cellulite treatment, with over 1,800 women participating.

In two pivotal phase 3 clinical studies of adult women with moderate to severe cellulite, 424 were treated with QWO and 419 received placebo.

QWO is injected by your aesthetic specialist directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle.

You should not receive QWO if you are allergic to any collagenase or the ingredients in QWO, or have an active infection in the treatment area.

If your aesthetic specialist determines that QWO is right for you, she or he will decide on a treatment plan, including total number of treatments.

Each treatment visit may include up to 2 treatment areas. QWO injections will be given 21 days apart for 3 treatment visits.

At each office visit, injections take as little as 10 minutes.

QWO may cause serious side effects including allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, including anaphylaxis, and injection site bruising.
