What is Jeuveau?
Jeuveau, also commonly referred to as “Newtox” is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injection designed to treat wrinkles and facial lines. It is intended to temporarily improve the wrinkles or lines between your eyebrows, which are referred to as glabellar lines or frown lines. Its active component is the same as Botox but stands out as an exemplary treatment for glabellar lines. Jeuveau is usually a less costly injectable option and can be a great starting point for those new to cosmetic procedures who wish to address facial wrinkles.

How does Jeuveau work?
To begin your Jeuveau treatment, any products or makeup you are wearing will be removed to better penetrate the skin and avoid infection. Jeuveau injections are not typically described as painful; however, if you are concerned about discomfort, you may be given a topical numbing cream. Then, your injector will place Jeuveau into multiple sites around the treated area utilizing the microinjection technique. These microinjections will take about 15 minutes to complete, at which point you can leave without an observation period. Slight results will be immediately noticeable, but full results will continue to develop for about a week.
Jeuveau Aftercare and Results
Following your Jeuveau treatment, you can return to work and other activities as normal. However, you should avoid rubbing the injection site. Mild swelling and redness may occur in the treatment area but should resolve with time. The effects of botulinum toxin products like Jeuveau wear off after several months.
