Botox

What is Botox?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a non-surgical, anti-aging treatment that is injected directly into the muscles, usually between the brows to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Botox is also used clinically to treat crow’s feet area around the eyes. When expertly administered, Botox and other proven neuromodulators such as Dysport offer an effective solution for wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging, while also being minimally invasive, highly effective. This makes BOTOX an affordable alternative to cosmetic surgery such as a brow lift or face lift and other surgical procedures that require surgeons, anesthesia, scalpels, stitches, and lengthy recovery times.

How does Botox work?

Botox and Dysport are forms of botulinum toxin. When BOTOX specialist inject Botulinum toxin in cosmetic treatments it can effectively diminish signs of aging by relaxing facial expression muscles, especially those around the eyes and brow that are notorious for developing dynamic wrinkles such as crow’s feet, smile lines, or forehead wrinkles. Botulinum toxin relaxes these muscles by temporarily blocking the nerve impulses that direct muscles to contract (the muscle activity that causes lines to form between the brows and forehead.)

Botox FAQ

Neuromodulators are products used to relax overactive muscles.  Neuromodulators are most commonly injected around the eyes, brow, forehead, glabella, and neck, in order to soften existing wrinkles (by weakening the muscle that create the lines) and prevent future wrinkles from forming

While results may vary between each patient, typically the Neuromodulators begin working within a few days following treatment, however their full effect doesn’t occur until about 7-10 days post procedure.  It is important to be patient until the full results of the neuromodulator reveal themselves.*

Generally, Botox/Dysport/Xeomin takes about 7-10 days for the full effects to take show, and last between 3-4 months.¹

Dermatologists who provide BOTOX in NYC commonly use neuromodulators such as Dysport and Botox injections to smooth out and diminish wrinkles and fine lines that collect form around the eyes, such as crow’s feet, as well as the fine lines and wrinkles that form around the brow and forehead. BOTOX is considered safe for men and women who are healthy, when performed by a qualified provider, such as Dr. Hadley King.
